The State has given a major thrust in the area of micro credit through Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Youth and Women. The Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have also been playing an important role in encouraging the development of Self Help Groups in the State. The Bank has formulated and is implementing schemes of financial assistance through DCCBs for Self Help Groups mainly for production activities by the Group members. Among others the Schemes of Self Help Groups like Chief Minister’s Empowerment of Youth (CMEY) for empowerment of youth and Development of Women and Children in Rural areas (DWCRA) for upliftment of women are supported by the Bank through major initiatives.
